WINTER PARASOL - WARMING HUTS COMPETITION CANADA 2015
The idea is to build a shelter structure for the skating crowd on the Assiniboine River during winter when the river is frozen. Designed to be used for quick rest or tying skates when needed. The structure is pre-assembled, starting from a flat shape when closed and opening through a single center point above the inlet aperture. It is therefore a versatile structure that allows quick and easy assembly, functioning as a parasol.
The work was developed and submitted to the competition "Warming Huts 2015" in a period of 2 weeks. And the production and assembly of the structure took 3 weeks using some experimental physical models and change in the type of joints and material.
3D modeling using Rhino and Grasshopper (data programming and parametric commands). Models printed on CNC cutting machine and 3D printer.
